In our pursuit of confidently delivering organic cosmetics people could trust, we began searching for a factory partner in France, a country at the forefront of organic innovation.

Among many possible factories, we found one holding exclusive rights to the spa water of Gamarde-les-Bains, located in southwestern France, giving rise to "KOTOSHINA," an organic cosmetics brand combining organic green tea from Uji, Kyoto, with natural spa water from France.

Used in nearly all of KOTOSHINA's products, the spa water from Gamarde-les-Bains has been recognized for benefits extending beyond dermatology into metabolic health.

Discovered in the 16th century, it later served as a place of recovery for wounded soldiers during World War I, and in 1841 was officially recognized by the Academy of Medicine, leading to the establishment of a spa treatment facility.

Later, an organic cosmetics manufacturer, drawn to the water's remarkable benefits for skin, secured exclusive rights to the source and began developing products, bringing renewed attention to this spa water.

KOTOSHINA has partnered with the manufacturer holding exclusive rights to this spa water, using this rare, natural skin-beautifying spa water — recognized by the French Academy of Medicine — as a key ingredient. This spa water is notably rich in sulfur, known for calming sensitive skin, protecting against irritation, and offering excellent benefits for anti-aging* care.

Our partner factory is also located in this same region of southwestern France, near the source of the spa water.

The surrounding area is rich in nature, home to Malbec vineyards and long-established wineries, and blessed with a mild, temperate climate.
