Odagaki Shoten is a long-established wholesale and retail bean merchant founded in 1734 in Tamba-Sasayama, Hyogo Prefecture. With a dedicated focus on Tamba black soybeans and Tamba dainagon red beans, both native to the Tamba region, they work closely with local producers to deliver safe, delicious, and high-quality products to their customers.
About the Building
Rather than adding anything new, the renovation approached seismic reinforcement in a way that stayed true to the building's original architectural style — more a restoration back in time than a modern addition. In its purest sense, if every piece of shop furniture and fixture were removed, the space would feel as though time had rewound to the Taisho era: a universal space that doesn't assert its own presence.
