Starting Wednesday, June 18, 2025, we're launching a limited-edition KOTOSHINA Signature Set, "Utsukushii Mono" (Beautiful Things), curated by beauty expert Chiaki Yoshikawa.This set wraps beauty expert Chiaki Yoshikawa's curated cosmetics selection in a furoshiki cloth featuring calligraphy by Kyoto-based calligrapher Mikiko Kayama. Combining organic cosmetics with art, this set embodies the very meaning behind our brand name, "Kotoshina" (the refinement of the old capital) — bringing together what KOTOSHINA considers Kyoto's own "beautiful things."
This lineup covers everything skin needs day to day, gently caring for it while quietly supporting the foundation of beauty — offering a genuine, reassuring sense of confidence with every use.
For this collaboration, calligrapher Mikiko Kayama experienced KOTOSHINA's skincare firsthand, and drew inspiration from that experience to create an original furoshiki design used as special packaging.

Beauty Expert Chiaki Yoshikawa — Profile
Beauty Expert, Menopause Counselor, Organic Specialist
An expert in beauty and botanicals, Yoshikawa proposes a natural, healthy lifestyle for women encompassing not just cosmetics, but food, women's healthcare, Chinese herbal medicine, plant-based therapies, fashion and interiors, and travel. A leading figure in natural beauty since the 1990s, she helped introduce organic cosmetics and botanical beauty to Japan, running spas and a women's herbal pharmacy along the way. Since meeting OB-GYN Dr. Ruriko Tsushima in 2000, she has been deeply involved in advocating for women's health. The seminar series she began with Dr. Tsushima in 2002, "Female Hormone Academy," has now reached 180 sessions. In 2025, she relocated to the mountains of Yatsugatake, where she now lives surrounded by forest.
Mikiko Kayama
Born in 1987 in Chiba Prefecture. Relocated to Kyoto in 2018. Active as a calligrapher since 2019.
Beyond presenting calligraphy-based artwork, she also creates shop signage and branding for various businesses.
