Notice: KOTOSHINA's First Tea Stand Now Open on the 1st Floor of Kyoto BAL
Newly opening on the 1st floor of Kyoto BAL, in the heart of Kyoto's Kawaramachi district, "KOTOSHINA Chaya" is a casual tea stand offering seating both on the terrace and inside, serving KOTOSHINA's original menu of Japanese tea.
Inside, you can watch matcha being whisked directly from a traditional tea kettle, while enjoying our organic green tea, known for its true, natural flavor, along with usucha (thin matcha, made with organic premium matcha), organic gyokuro genmaicha, organic wakocha (Japanese black tea), lattes made with these teas (oat milk also available for a vegan option), and seasonal drinks.

The menu also features gelato made generously with organic tea leaves on an additive-free milk base, along with seasonal tea sweets and vegan cookies.
Even the tea scoops and whisks used in-store were commissioned from traditional craftspeople specializing in tea ceremony tools, reflecting our commitment to detail as a true "chaya" (teahouse).
